Too Late?!

On March 30th 2010 family, and friends joined together to say good bye to my grandma in White Bear Lake Minnesota.
I did not attend.
Not by choice.
But because I was late.
I did not think that it would be over by 11:30 when it started at 11:00am. But it was exactly 11:34am Maddie, Joshua and I were walking up to the funeral home only to find that everyone was gathering their coats and things because the service was over.
I was devastated and I still feel awful inside.
How did I miss my grandma's funeral. How did people not look around and realize I wasn't there.
Not blaming everyone else just wish someone would have noticed and maybe called me to see where I was I dunno!
It hurts.
I had written a few things I wanted to say and also had a poem I wanted to read.
To late.
I can say that I was with my grandma the day she passed. And I did get to tell her so much when she was still awake the day before.
But I still missed her funeral.

This poem is not by me. I will not be sharing the things I wanted to say. I have decided to keep that between grandma and me.

Until We Meet Again

by Unknown
Each morning when we awake
we know that you are gone.
And no one knows the heartache
As we try to carry on.

Our hearts still ache with sadness
and many tears still flow.
What it meant to lose you,
No one will ever know.

Our thoughts are always with you,
your place no one can fill.
In life we loved you dearly,
In death we love you still.

There will always be a heartache,
and often a silent tear,
But always a precious memory
Of the days when you were here.

If tears could make a staircase,
And heartaches make a lane,
We'd walk the path to heaven
And bring you home again.

We hold you close within our hearts,
And there you will remain,
To walk with us throughout our lives
Until we meet again.

Our family chain is broken now,
And nothing will be the same,
But as God calls us one by one,
The chain will link again.

my Wamma...

Our lives go on without you
But nothing is the same
We have to hide our heartache
When someone speaks your name
Sad are the hearts that love you
Silent are the tears that fall
Living without you is the hardest part of all
You did so many things for us
Your heart was so kind and true
And when we needed someone
We could always count on you
The special years will not return
When we are all together
But with the love in our hearts
You walk with us forever

recovering.. slowly

We all know how most men are when they are sick.. I don't even need to get into it because most woman have experienced this with either a father, brother, boyfriend or husband. Well for the first time ever I was "man sick".
Man Cold (in case you have never seen it)

I seriously whined, moaned, and I think died for a few days on the couch. It was GREAT! No wonder why they do it when they are sick. If I knew how glorious it felt to be this way, be waited on, cared for all day and night you bet I would have started this sometime ago. Of course being sick stinks! But when someone actually cares for you it's not so bad..

I guess this is why they do it. Now I know. I bet I will be paid back plenty. Justin seems to be getting sicker.. EEK!!

Happy St Patty's Day!

Well since it's St Patty's day I wanted to share with you a yummy recipe that I found and will be making tonight in honor of this day.
Which by the way has more meaning then green beer, corn beef and cabbage, and big parades of a sea of green.

It's funny when I ask some people they think that St Patrick was a leprechaun. NOPE! Here's a little lesson on St Patrick's day for ya from the Irish side of me.

St Patrick was a saint! Hence the ST in front of his name. He was the patron Saint and national apostle of Ireland. Now the intended meaning of this day is spiritual renewal and offerings of prayers for missionaries world wide.

Just a little mini history lesson for you. I spend a bit of time reading about different things sometimes people need to know sometimes absolutely just me wanting to know.

And how are we celebrating it here in our house these Green Velvet Cupcakes with sloppy jo's and cheesy hashbrowns. No corn beef and cabbage here. If people in my house ate that we would be all over it. But a 20 lb corned beef brisket and only me eating it more then likely not gonna happen.

St Patrick's Day last year

Same hat different year. Still doesn't fit

Wordless Wednesday ~ flash back

Been awhile

Here I sit amongst all this clutter!! I don't even know how I can concentrate on anything but this crap all over the house. It's literally crap. One person's junk is another's treasure is full effect in this house.

My husband and I decided it was time to move our computer room downstairs into what had become a storage room. Big MISTAKE! I have found that my husband is a hoarder of all things pc related.
Books about pc's, programming books, towers for pc's, cords, keyboards, monitors, servers. Need I go on! Bags and boxes everywhere of this stuff. And to get him to purge some of it is hilarious! He has a reason why he should keep all of it. I have not seen him reach in the pc graveyard and use any parts. I do however see him ordering parts, NEW parts that need to be replaced.

I appreciate that he has a hobby, but wow! I would hate to see what happen if I took up a hobby as well. We would have to add on or move. And well seeing as moving isn't possible in this economy it looks like we are adding on.

Okay rant over.

Spring cleaning? in the air?

Well this week was packed with a house full of sick people, Children's museum, me coming up with a plan for some spring cleaning, and let me say no one wants to jump on board that ship with me.

Let's discuss spring cleaning. I do it every year. I end up paying the garbage people to take more stuff, and a trip or two to the thrift store to drop off a few things.

What do you all do for spring cleaning? I go beyond all of that but let's discuss what you do in comments. Maybe I'm missing something.
It sure feels nice though for the few days after to have a nice clean house doesn't it lol And I say a few days because in this house I'm lucky if it last that long.
